Candle Shack What’s New EcoSystem RCX Container Wax

Introducing our EcoSystem Rapeseed & Coconut (RCX) natural wax blend.  This wax is blended in Europe exclusively for Candle Shack and is made from rapeseed oil and coconut oil and nothing else.  It is completely free from paraffin, soy, palm, beeswax and synthetic additives.

The wax has a melt point of around 40 Deg C and is firm to the touch.  Maximum scent load varies between 8% and 10% depending on the oil.

Wicking is fairly easy, with CL wicks being the first choice, although many other wick families may also work, including V, VRL and Stabilo.  

Here are some recommendations for 30cl vessels:

• CL10-12 -14
• VRL12-14
• V12
• Woodwicks – 30cl LA3 & LB3

The wax can be heated to and poured at 40-70 Deg C into ambient glassware (20-30 Deg.C ideally).  Depending on the fragrance and conditions, a surface re-melt may be required to get a smooth finish. You can also pour this wax quite cool, anywhere from 38c upwards.

In the laboratory, we heat RCX to 60 Deg.C and pour at around 50 deg.C, although you can alter this to suit your local environment.
